Clarke hit?

jeudi 20 janvier 2011

Sci-fi writer Arthur C. Clarke gave in 2001 a forecast that space airplanes for commercial purposes will apply from 2012. It's right a decade from this forecast and just one year from that new form of tourism. Can we make it?

The SpaceX company intends to carry both humans and vehicles into space. Spaceship Company plans to lunch the world’s first production line of the spacecrafts. This year also the first private spacecraft is to join the space station. So it seems that a few trips for a few chosen ones have a chance to change into the business with great potentials.
What, however, will such travel be like? Do we, the potential customers, have to prepare somehow for the space traveling? Do we have to pass physical and perhaps psychological tests? Do we need to endure congestion associated with overcoming the Earth’s gravity? The forthcoming Virgin Galactic sub-orbital craft is essentially a six-seated plane. So it promises quite comfortable travel. It’s event possible to book a ticket for the travel for $ 200.000.
