Pyramids surrounded by mystery

Yesterday a new tallest building in the world was officially opened. Except surprises it raises also some controversies. It also appeared as one of the issues for comment in yesterday Czech TV’s program Udalosti, komentare.
Among the guests speaking on this topic was architect Eva Jiricna. From her words one can suggest that this new building didn’t impress her. Well honestly, I don’t wonder. The debate marginally affected the demand for these buildings. Like today rather than need to build tall buildings for economic reasons it’s the human desire to overcome difficulties that leads to building such buildings. And here, in their arguments Mrs. architect, perhaps a bit of hyperbole, compared the site of the pyramid to the site of this building. Arab countries have said to some extent access to their workers as the rulers in ancient Egypt to the slaves building the pyramids. When no one cared about the lives of slaves. I don’t want to address the conditions in which workers worked on that site. But what the slaves?! True, it was long considered that slaves built these buildings. But now we have proved that they were skilled workers. Although the conditions to work were very difficult and workers were drafted from all the areas of the contemporary Egypt. I’m quite amazed that people just dealing with the architecture are still able to spread these delusions.
